Digital Batman: Israeli Catches Pedophiles Online, Filed 200 Complaints

by Caught Red Handed

Behind a slew of recent complaints filed with Israeli police against alleged online predators of children is a man by the name of Avi Dubitzky, a self-described pedophile hunter, Israeli daily Ma’ariv reported on Wednesday.

Dubitzky uses the cloak of anonymity that the Internet provides to pose as underage girls so as to lure sexual deviants into committing a crime online. Dubitzky’s diligence – he has filed approximately 200 complaints over the last year – is paying off, with about 20 indictments being served in recent months as reported by Maariv News Paper.

Dubitzky is rather modest about his accomplishments, saying that, “I’m not trying to make peace between the Israelis and Palestinians. I simply find it impossible to ignore the phenomenon of online sexual predators…When I read about it, I feel it on my flesh and am compelled to act.”

This online Batman has a small Justice League of his own, two partners – a man and a woman – who visit sites, strike up conversations, document them, photograph suspects and forward any evidence of alleged wrongdoing to the authorities, Ma’ariv said.

Yet despite his recent successes, Dubitzky’s efforts are still not appreciated by Israeli police, Ma’ariv said. According to an official spokesperson from the Israeli Police Department, “Most of Mr. Dubitzky’s activities with regards to tracking down pedophiles are of limited evidentiary value due to his mode of operation.”

Still, he doesn’t plan on retiring from the crime fighting business anytime soon. “What the police needs fifty people to do, I do alone… and for free,” a proud Dubitzky exclaims.
