“He didn’t hide it; he told me that he had a bad incident and got carried away.” For more than six months, a kindergarten teacher in Tel Aviv knew that an assistant that she employs allegedly corresponded with a 14-year-old boy and made sexual suggestions to him – this is what she confessed when she was filmed on a hidden camera. Although she knew about his actions, she did not report them to anyone and left him to work with the children. Even now, the parents do not understand that the kindergartener was arrested last week.
The police arrested the daycare worker from Tel Aviv after he allegedly corresponded with someone who presented himself as a 14-year-old boy and offered him offers of a sexual nature. The one who talked to the suspect and pretended to be a 14-year-old boy is Avi Dubitzky, who brings to justice online sex offenders. Dubitzky filed a police report against the daycare worker months before his arrest. Since his arrest, the kindergarten teacher has been under house arrest and suspended. His employer knew about his actions but decided not to tell anyone – neither the parents nor the police. “At the time, he was after a break-up, he was bored and depressed, and he got carried away by it,” explains the employer to Dubitzky as he was secretly taking a video of her. “He told me, ‘I knew I was doing something wrong.'”

In her conversation with Dubitzky, the daycare owner also described the kindergarten teacher’s arrest last week. “They came to kindergarten and were very nice,” she says. “Until I brought someone to replace him – they didn’t take him. I know everything; there’s nothing I don’t know. He was shocked; I went to his ear and told him, ‘It must be from the affair back then.’ He told me, ‘Well, you’re right.'”
However, the owner clarified that if the actions attributed to her assistant are true, then he should pay the price. “I have no problem with them prosecuting him,” she says, “they can lynch him and end his life if that’s true.”
In a conversation with News 2 Online after his arrest, the daycare owner explained why she didn’t report what her employer told her earlier. “A man comes and reveals such a thing to me with complete honesty,” she explains, “He knows that he just did something stupid, and it was really out of stupidity and out of the blue, and there was nothing wrong with it. You can’t scold someone and tell him, ‘Okay, so that’s it, you’re punished forever and ever'”.
Why didn’t she inform the parents about his arrest? “For the same reason that until I have all the findings and until I don’t know what’s going on, why do I need to wake the dead from their sleep? Why do I need to shake the earth?”. However, the kindergarten owner suspended him from kindergarten until the details of the affair became clear.
According to the suspicion, the suspect knew full well that he was breaking the law in his actions and that he was corresponding on sexual issues with an alleged minor, but despite this, he continued on his way. He even offered to make the minor sign a contract to protect him from future entanglement with the law.
In a conversation with News 2 Online, the suspect clarified that he was not coming to the daycare. “Right now, I don’t have much to say about it,” he said. “I am currently at home and not feeling well.” The defense attorney for the suspect refused to comment.
