The Police confiscated the personal computers of the suspects. Among those arrested was a sports coach working with children in a government office. “This is just a drop in the bucket,” say Avi Dubitzky, who has filled over 500 complaints against suspect sexual predators.
The officers of the Cyber Unit of the Central District Police arrested 19 men, residents of Sharon and the Center of Israel, on suspicion of pedophilia offenses on the Internet. They were arrested after the citizen Avi Dubitzky posed as a 13-year-old girl and had contact with them, during which he was allegedly exposed to pedophile material by the suspects.
Avi Dubitzky handed over the material to the police, who, in cooperation with him, began an undercover investigation, which became public yesterday morning when the suspects were arrested. According to a police source, some suspects are sports coaches working with children, government office workers, freelancers, and municipal employees.
The police confiscated the personal computers of the suspects, and the computers were searched for evidence linking them to other crimes. In some of them, allegedly pedophilic material was discovered already in the initial examination. According to the police, Avi Dubitzky, while posing as a girl, had many conversations with all the suspects. The suspects offered him sexual propositions and even sent him pornographic images. The suspects will be brought today for an extension of detention at the Magistrate’s Court in Petah Tikva. Most suspects deny the crimes attributed to them, while some have linked themselves to the acts. The police suspect that some of the suspects had previous conversations with minors, and there is a suspicion that some of them even met with them.
