A 28-year-old from the center of Israel, who contacted two people who posed as minors in an online chat and had conversations with them of a sexual nature – is now accused of committing sexual offenses against children. “The conversations indicate his dangerousness,” the indictment says Israel Police
The conversations were sexual, at the end of which the accused suggested moving from the virtual world to the real world and even arrived at where the minor was supposed to live – there he was arrested,” according to the indictment.
The defendant’s attorney said this person had no criminal record and asked to be released to house arrest. Tel Aviv District Court Judge Hadassah Naor refused the request and decided to keep him in custody until another decision. “We are talking about actions that have an element of pedophilia and thereby endanger the safety of minors, even and perhaps precisely when they start with a random meeting through the internet,” she noted.
During the correspondence in the chat, the accused suggested to “Katina,” who was introduced as “Sheeran,” to meet with him in exchange for a payment of NIS 300 to perform indecent acts on her. “Additional conversations with minors were found on the respondent’s mobile device – one allegedly 14 and a half years old and the other allegedly 17 years old,” the prosecutor’s office stated in the arrest request. “These conversations are not part of the indictment, but they testify to the dangerousness of the respondent and the fact that the acts for which he was caught are not one-time events and are not foreign to the respondent’s world.”
In one of the documented correspondences, the suspect tries to encourage the girl to meet him, despite her doubts about his reasons for doing so, given the age gap between them. “Then why do you want to meet me? I’m just a little girl, and you’re big,” asked the impostor. “Because I want to feel younger, to experience something with someone your age,” he replied.
Suspect: How will we open up to each other?
“12-year-old”: I don’t know. You don’t tell me either. I don’t understand what is ‘things of adults’. So what do you want us to do?
Suspect: Have you ever kissed?
“12 years old”: no.
Suspect: And when you’re alone, do you touch yourself?
“12-year-old”: no… why are you asking me?
Suspect: To know.
“12-year-old”: why do you want to know that?
Suspect: Because I want to know if we can see each other like this when we meet.
“12 years old”: what does that mean? See how?
Suspect: naked.
D., the father of a 6-year-old boy who also acted as a “pedophile hunter” in the current case, decided to enlist in the mission – and talked to the suspect while posing as a 12-year-old. “I went on the Internet, and my eyes went dark,” he told News 2 Online. “I was shocked by what was happening online, and I must praise the police who did an excellent job and arrested him immediately.”
